I cannot believe that the 2019 has almost past and that we are on the countdown to Christmas. The month of gigs started with a new venue, I was asked to sing at Cave Castle after receiving really good feedback at a wedding open day earlier in the year. The evening was lovely, a really intimate setting and a lovely crowd, again I received really good feedback from both clients and staff and I cannot wait to return.

On the 5th December I sang at New Horizons which is an over 50 event held by my home church Jubilee, I love singing here as I know most of the folk really well and they are always up for fun. The first weekend of December I sang at Hallmark Hotel which is going to be every Saturday through December. However, on the evening of the 7th I sang at another new venue, Wilsons Pub Scarborough. From the moment we arrived I knew we were going to have fun, they were so positive and welcoming, the only difficulty I had there was trying to leave, great crowd and thanks to Gary and Tina for hosting me.  On Sunday 8th December 2019 all my family headed over to Kristen’s house for a get together with her family. It was a time of getting to know each other better, good food and fun games. The highlight was us showing the video of me proposing to Kristen, both mums shed a few tears.

The next week was extremely busy with Christmas gigs, it started with a performance for Back to Ours on the Monday, then another new venue, singing at a very busy Country Park Inn. On the Friday I sang at The Royal Hotel and finished the day off at The East riding Gin Club a venue I love. On the Saturday I was pleased to only have one gig in the afternoon and to have a chilled evening watching TV with my father.

17th-25th December: This week has been a mixture of private bookings at Nursing and Residential homes, I love singing at these and to see the joy on their faces, if I made their Christmas 1% better through singing it has all been worthwhile. I also had a couple more new venues, I had been asked to sing at The Millhouse Skidby at their Christmas Barbeque, this involves some Christmas Swing Classics as well as traditional carols, this has been so lovely and what a beautiful setting. I had a couple of pub gigs one at The Nagsheads in Routh and another at Anlaby Park Hotel, both very different in clientele but I enjoyed both of them immensely. On the 23rd I ventured to The Hilton York for a few hours of laid back jazz, swing and lounge style songs a lovely way to end the Christmas bookings. And so, Christmas is here, A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.

27th December: And back to work, with a gig at The Royal Hotel, its ok though as it wasn’t a late finish. The 28th is one of my most favourite days of the Christmas period with all the family heading to Bridlington for the panto “Oh yes we are” with dads’ cousins. Even though they are in their 80’s they still always enjoy it. 30thDecember saw me return to the Hilton York for another laid back lounge session a lovely venue and the 31stDecember sees us finish the year with another of my favourite venues 1884 Wine and Tapas. I love it so much here and they always feed me which is a huge bonus as the food here is to die for.

And so: Wishing You All A Happy New Year and may your year be filled with joy and happiness.
